Wonderful for relaxation

This 4-CD set is filled with sublimely beautiful classical music, chosen to fit the mood induced by the wave technology. The Delta one has become part of my evening routine and I really do find I sleep better when I listen to it. The Gamma one blends into the background when I'm reading something dense or composing a technical email (something that requires concentration and brainpower). The Alpha one is great when I'm just hanging out with a novel. As with all technologies of this type, they work "better" with stereo headphones but I've been using them without. I did try the sleep one with headphones once and it put me right out. Without headphones it creates more of a lulling, tranquil ambiance. I am thoroughly enjoying this CD set.

Good Music

I really like the classical music on all but the delta cd. This one is supposed to be for sleep but I find it sinister and annoying, but the rest of the cds are good.

Excellent brainwave entrainment CDs

Dr. Jeffrey Thompson's brainwave entrainment music is by far the most effective. This CD set is excellent. Whether you are a classical music fan or not, listening to this CD will produce results. I was concerned when I bought the CD that I would be getting second rate classical music or possibly that it would be warped by the "brainwaves." Not so. These are beautiful, timeless recordings of some of the greatest classical masters. And, the brainwaves cannot even be heard in the music (at least I can't hear it!)

This CD set is also useful because it can be listened to and experienced without headphones. It's nice to have the choice of different brainwaves, and the ability to let it play in the background while I go about other things. (Others of his CDs require headphones, lying down, etc.)

Highly recommended.

Took a nap during labor

I used the first CD in this collection (Alpha) to assist me during the labor and delivery of our daughter. I put it on our ipod and listened to it over and over during the labor process. I actually managed a light nap during active labor and had very little pain throughout the process. It that doesn't tell you that it keeps you relaxed and able to meditate, I don't know whatelse might convince you. The recording is great, the music lovely, and it does what it claims to do. I highly recommend it!
